Hidden Gems: How to Find Secret Clearance Sections

on

Published in The Bargain Hunters Playbook

Every savvy shopper knows that clearance sections are where the real deals hide, but finding them isn’t always straightforward. Many major retailers intentionally bury these pages deep in their websites, making them harder to find. If you know where to look, though, you can score significant savings without even clipping a coupon.

First, get familiar with the hidden corners of your favorite retail sites. For example, Amazon has a lesser-known Warehouse Deals section, where you can find open-box, returned, or refurbished items at steep discounts. Target has a dedicated Clearance section, and Best Buy offers an Outlet page with similar markdowns on returned or overstocked items.

Using specific search terms can also unlock hidden deals. Try adding words like "clearance,” “outlet,” “final sale,” or “last chance” to your searches. Many sites also have dedicated clearance filters you can enable to find the deepest discounts.

Another smart move is to bookmark these sections or sign up for retailer newsletters, which often include early access to clearance sales. Some stores even have clearance events tied to specific seasons or holidays, making these times especially valuable for bargain hunters.

Finally, don’t forget to check for additional discounts on these already reduced items. Promo codes, loyalty points, or cash-back offers can sometimes be stacked on top of clearance prices, stretching your dollar even further.

With a little digging and the right timing, you can uncover incredible bargains hiding in plain sight.
